Visually Impaired Exercise

Using the “clock” technique, the girls role played what it would be like to locate something on a table without being able to see. This method requires an assistant that can describe the location of an item based on its relation to the numbers on a clock. The girls took turns as the visually impaired character and the helper. Some comments from the written reflection:
“At first I felt annoyed, nervous, and scared…even a little bit sad.”
“I felt sort of dizzy.”
“It was hard to find the toothpick because it was small and skinny.”
“I felt weird because I had never done it before.’
“It was hard at first but then I started to feel more comfortable and get the idea.”
