Photon Frenzy!

Today we pretended we were fast moving hydrogen atoms inside the sun. These atoms collided, fused together and released energy in the form of light and heat, known as photons. We then had to struggle through the maze of other hydrogen atoms to get to the surface of the sun. This process takes thousands of years. Once we reached the surface, we raced toward the globe, or Earth. It takes photons 8 minutes and 20 seconds to reach the Earth. Girls, you can earn a ticket if you find out how long it takes photons to reach Jupiter once they leave the sun’s surface.
