Native Tribe Presentations: Day 3

Our final day of presentations from Kenyonna, Jadah S., Taylor, MacKenzie, Najhe, Melia, Maradi, and Jasmine was informative and fun! We tasted traditional fry bread, Johnny Cakes and melon. Each student was given a handmade Maori mask necklace to wear and keep. The students viewed three different house models: an igloo, a wharenui and a chickee. We studied a diorama that showed the geographical features of a Tennessee tribe. We saw examples of metal jewelry that would have been traded for fur pelts and saw a backpack used for storing food, tools, and weapons.
